Out in Our Communities

At PCB Bank, we take enormous pride in supporting our local communities. For us that starts with educating everyone from preschoolers to college students and older adults on the importance of banking, savings and investments. But we don’t stop at financial literacy training. Each spring during Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax season, we offer free tax preparation. Each summer, we award scholarships to underprivileged high school seniors headed off to college. And every year, we renew our support of local nonprofits by making donations and serving on boards.

Points of Pride

Independent and ambitious in their service to the community. That describes three of our busiest East Coast branches: Bayside, NY, and Englewood Cliffs and Palisades Park, NJ. This small but mighty team serves all of Bergen and Queens counties, forging strong ties with local nonprofit organizations. Our Englewood Cliffs branch manager shares his financial expertise on a local nonprofit board. Our East Coast branches host financial literacy events for ESL community members. And in their first year, our Dallas County, TX, branches launched small business seminars for the local business community. Next up: Financial literacy classes and free tax prep services for our Dallas County customers.

Annual Activities

LA Saves

We work with this highly effective bilingual program to transform people’s lives by reinforcing good saving habits. A part of the nationwide America Saves program, LA Saves provides the framework for setting savings goals and plans to achieve better financial stability. Our staff members help explain the benefits of savings, how to open and maintain savings accounts and much more.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Each year, several PCB Bank officers experienced in tax preparation volunteer their time at local community organizations to help individuals and families file their tax returns and take full advantage of tax credits and relief programs. Over the years, we’ve put in over 2,000 hours for income tax assistance.

PCB Scholarship

Established in 2018, the PCB Bank Annual Scholarship Program awards scholarships to local students to help further their education. Since its inception, we’ve donated $300,000 in scholarship funds to qualified applicants in need.

Past Activities

Among the highlights from recent years was a financial literacy seminar between our East Coast branches and a local nonprofit partner in Hackensack, NJ. Branch employees rallied for the event, sharing tips to prevent financial fraud to low-income seniors. In a similar show of community support, our West Coast employees in Los Angeles partnered with a local nonprofit to teach students from preschool to high school how to manage their money.

Community Focus

PCB Bank supports organizations that offer financial literacy programs, youth programs, economic development and revitalization, and/or affordable housing. Our service areas are Los Angeles County and Orange County in California, Bergen County in New Jersey, Queens Borough in New York, and Dallas County in Texas.
