In Our Communities
PCB Bank is proud to support and take part in the efforts to strengthen and build up the communities we serve. It is our goal to proactively engage with the local non-profit organizations, and to bring positive change in the lives of their clientele.
Our Community Involvement
At PCB Bank, we believe that it is our responsibility to give back to our communities. Our volunteer services in the community include providing financial literacy training to high school students and adults seeking to become independent and self-sufficient. In the past, we have conducted a Safe Banking for Seniors class and participated in many financial education events to gain hands-on teaching experience. On an annual basis, we have made donations to non-profit organizations to support their operations in serving the low-to-moderate income communities and individuals.
In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, in 2020, we sought out and donated to non-profit organizations that rose to meet the increased needs in the community to fight food insecurity and to bring necessary protective equipment to the disadvantaged community. We also mailed and hand delivered masks and supplies directly to members of our community. PCB Bank will always collaborate and partner with those organizations that work to advance the lives of the underserved individuals in our city.
Yearly Activities
-
LA SAVES
Work together to transform the lives of people by encouraging them to save successfully. As a part of American Saves, LA Saves is the framework that allows savers to set a goal, and make a plan to achieve better financial stability. Our staff help explain the benefits of savings and talked to them about opening and maintaining bank accounts. -
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Several of our bank officers are well-experienced in providing tax preparation assistance and they volunteer their time at our local community organizations every year to help individuals and family file their tax return and take advantage of tax credits and tax relief programs to the fullest extent. Over the years, the Bank has accrued over 2,000 hours for tax assistance. -
PCB Scholarship
Established in 2018, our Bank's annual scholarship program supports the students in our community by providing scholarships to assist them in furthering their education. Since its inception, we have donated $300,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants in need.
Past Activities
- One of our responses to the Covid-19 Pandemic was to partner up with one of our long-time non-profit organizations to assist clients in filing for unemployment insurance claims. Our employees, fluent in English and Korean, volunteered over 90 hours in service and helped clients get the much needed funds during this unprecedented pandemic.
- We have donated over 11,000 masks to various non-profit organizations for their staff to use to protect themselves as they delivered much needed services like food drive, food delivery and other activities that involved interacting with the community.
- PCB Bank also applied for the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLB SF) program that awarded matching funds for qualified donations. We were awarded over $21,000 in matching funds which we then forwarded on to the non-profit organizations to further support their operation.
